The 33-year-old Beimel went 1-2 with a 3.40 ERA in 71 relief appearances with Colordo last season, which was his second
straight season with 70-plus appearances and fifth straight with at least 60 appearances.
Beimel was originally selected by the Pirates in the 18th round of the 1998 First-Year Player Draft. He made his big league
debut with Pittsburgh in 2001 and compiled a record of 10-20 in 164 appearances (23 starts) from 2001-03 with Pittsburgh.
Since breaking into the big leagues in 2001, Beimel has compiled a career record of 23-31 with a 4.16 ERA (562.1ip/260er)
in 532 games (23 starts) with Pittsburgh (2001-03), Minnesota (2004), Tampa Bay (2005), the Los Angeles Dodgers (2006-
08), Washington (2009) and Colorado (2009-10).
