Tallet, 34, split the 2011 season between the Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals. In last year's deal centered around Colby Rasmus and Edwin Jackson, Tallet was a throw-in sent from St. Louis to Toronto in order to finish off the deal. Over 19 appearances last season, he posted a 9.45 ERA in 13 innings.
As a member of Toronto's rotation in 2009, Tallet went 7-9 in 25 starts. Reassigned to the bullpen in 2010, Tallet held left-handed hitters to a .176 average in 102 at-bats.
The Oklahoma native has a career record of 16-25 with a 4.79 ERA in nine seasons, predominantly as a reliever. He was originally Cleveland's second-round choice in the 2000 First-Year Player Draft.
