Bucs win arbitration with Jones

Garrett Jones

This morning the Arbitration Panel in the Garrett Jones case ruled in favor of the Club's $2.25M submission.

The three-person panel chose the Pirates` figure, Jones` had requested $2.5 million. This was the first time Jones, 30, was eligible for salary arbitration. He made $455,500 last year.

The Pirates and infielder Casey McGehee have agreed to terms on a contract for the 2012 season, thus avoiding salary arbitration.

The terms of McGehee`s one-year contract were not immediately available. In arbitration, he had requested $2.725 million and the Pirates had offered $2.35 million. He made $468,000 in 2011.

With spring training set to begin Sunday, all of the Pirates` arbitration-eligible players are now under contract.
