Angels Will Have Three AFL All-Stars

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will be represented by three former first round picks this fall in the Arizona Fall League All-Star Game.

It was announced earlier today, Monday, October 28th, that the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim would have three representatives in the Arizona Fall League All-Star Game, Cam Bedrosian, C.J. Cron, and Taylor Lindsey.

Time to catch you up with the Angels and their Arizona Fall League team, the Mesa Solar Sox. The "Sox" with a record of 10-6-1, are currently leading the Eastern Division of the Arizona Fall League by two and a half games, and are behind the Surprise Suguaros by just half a game for the best record in the League. The Mesa Solar Sox have players from the Oakland Athletics, Chicago Cubs, Washington Nationals, Detroit Tigers, and of course, the Los Angeles Angels.

Cam Bedrosian was a slightly surprising pick for the All-Star team with a 5.79 ERA, but has struck out seven over four and two thirds innings pitched, giving him a 15 strikeouts per nine thus far. Righty reliever Bedrosian was drafted in the first round by the Angels in the first round (29th overall) in 2010 out of East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg, Georgia. Bedrosian was also a big part of the Inland Empire 66ers California League Championship this past season.

C.J. Cron was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 44th round of the 2008 draft, but luckily for Angels fans, opted out to go to the University of Utah. In 2011, Cron was drafted by the Angels in the first round (17th overall) and has been a big bat for the Angels farm system. This fall, he has the fifth best offensive statistics, batting 385/432/718 and only trails teammate and Chicago Cubs prospect Kris Bryant with a 1.150 OPS and three home runs.

Arizona local, Taylor Lindsey has been the standout second baseman for the Mesa Solar Sox this fall, batting 279/327/442 for the Sox, with just two fielding errors in ten games. Lindsey has the fifth best offensive statistics in the AFL, helping give him the All-Star bid. Lindsey was a first round pick (37th overall) for the Angels in 2010 out of Desert Mountain High School, and is currently ranked the Angels third best prospect.
