McCutchen on Fast Track

Andrew McCutchen is on the fast track. Only 19 years old and in just his second professional season, McCutchen has already made it to Double-A, and produced outstanding numbers in his first full professional season.

He had 531 at-bats and batted .291 in 114 games at low Class A Hickory and then made the jump two levels to Class Double A Altoona. He became the youngest player in Altoona history when he was promoted in August, and he responded with a .308 batting average with three home runs in 20 games.
