Duke Primed for Big Season

Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander Zach Duke posted a 10-15 record with a 4.47 ERA last season. Disappointing numbers by his standards. PirateDugout.com's George Von Benko spoke with the lefty at a recent workout session at PNC Park.

GVB-- You told me you were happy with some things last season, but you were also disappointed - there were some things that went wrong and you were going to focus on getting those things corrected.

ZD-- Absolutely, and I conveyed my thoughts with the training staff here and with the strength coaches and I've really stayed on task. I feel like I've improved where I need to and I'm in great shape and I'm ready to go. I feel like I'm ready to hit the ground running.
