Outfielder Nate McLouth has given the Pirates a lift of the bench with his pinch hitting early this season. He is batting .429 with one home run and one RBI. PiratesDugout.com's George Von Benko spoke with McLouth recently.

GVB-- Nate you've been getting some action as a pinch hitter and have been doing pretty well, have you adjusted to that role?

NM-- Yeah, last year was kind of my first time ever doing that type of role and it was a tough adjustment period, but I'm kind of learning my niche now and feel more comfortable doing it.
