Bucs Name Pitching Coach

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Wednesday that Jeff Andrews has been named Pitching Coach at the Major League level.

The announcement was made by Pirates Senior Vice President and GeneralManager Neal Huntington along with Field Manager John Russell.

Andrews, 48, spent the last five seasons as a Pitching Coach in the Pirates minor league system, working the last two years with Triple-A Indianapolis.

He joined the Pittsburgh organization in 2003 and spent three seasons as the Pitching Coach with Double-A Altoona before moving on to Indianapolis. After pitching two years in the Cubs farm system, Andrews began his coaching career with the Texas organization in 1987. In his career, he has spent a total of 21 years as a minor league Pitching Coach/Coordinator.

“We are pleased to add Jeff to our major league staff as pitching coach and are looking forward to watching him continue to positively impact the development of our pitching staff,” said Huntington. “In addition to having a familiarity with a number of our quality young pitchers from working with them in the past,
