Last season was quite a year for Steve Pearce. His ability to breeze through three minor-league levels before making his major league debut gave way for an assortment of accolades.

Pearce, who was Pittsburgh's eight-round draft selection in 2005, was branded the Pirates' Minor League Player of the Year after hitting .328 with 45 doubles, 31 home runs and 119 RBIs in 157 minor/major league games.
