Right-hander Byung-Hyun Kim still has not been added to the 40-man roster. He agreed to terms Wednesday on a one-year contract worth $850,000 plus as much as $1 million in performance bonuses, and he passed a physical the next day. Kim's locker in the clubhouse is fully stocked, and he is in Bradenton, but for unspecified reasons, was not at camp. The Pirates must clear a spot on the roster before adding Kim.

Between 11:30 and 12:30, the following 17 pitchers threw batting practice on all four fields on Saturday:

Prior to Sunday's practice from 7:30 to 9:30, all 68 players in camp and the major league coaching staff will participate in the annual "Photo Day" event. Major League Baseball, the Associated Press, various baseball cards companies, FSN Pittsburgh, the Pirates scoreboard crew and the Pirates team photographer will be among the 12 stations taking photos of the players on Sunday.
