BRADENTON: The past year has been tough for former Pirates' first round pick Brad Lincoln.

Lincoln, 22, was the No. 4 overall pick of the 2006 draft. He logged 127 2/3 innings in his final year at the University of Houston, making 17 starts in his team's 50-game schedule.
