Outfielder James Boone flashed his skills at spring training, the 25-year was selected in the 2005 draft. He hit .281 with 10 home runs, 51 RBI in 77 games between Hickory and Lynchburg before missing the final two months with a shoulder injury. He opened the season at Double A Altoona and is batting .273 with two homers and four RBI. PiratesDugout.com’s George Von Benko spoke with Boone recently.
