Bucs Sign Bay to Four-Year Deal

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced that they have signed All-Star outfielder Jason Bay to a four-year contract (through the 2009 season). The deal is reportedly worth 18.25 million, with the possibility of another $750,000 in bonuses. Bay, 27, hit .306 with 32 home runs and 101 RBI during the 2005 campaign. Bay was named the the National League All-Star team this past season and was the first Pittsburgh player to capture National League Rookie-of-the-Year honors in 2004.
