(565.2ip/33 er) in parts of six seasons in the big leagues with Cleveland (2001-02), Texas (2003-05) and Wash-ington
(2005-06). He was most recently with the Camden Riversharks in the Atlantic League, where he was 6-1
with a 3. ERA (65.1ip/25er) in 11 starts this year.

Outfielder Miles Durham was promoted from Hickory to Lynchburg. Durham hit .348 (100-for-287)
with 2 doubles, 1 home runs and 57 RBI prior to his promotion. He was leading the South Atlantic League
in RBI, hits and slugging percentage (.585). He also ranked second in the league in batting, runs (53), extra
base hits (39) and doubles (24). His 14 home runs were third among all South Atlantic League hitters.
Catcher Steve Lerud was promoted from Single-A Lynchburg to Double-A Altoona. Lerud hit .256 with
eight home runs and 40 RBI in 67 games this year for Lynchburg. He also threw out 28 percent of the runners
attempting to steal against him.
Infielder Jordy Mercer was promoted from State College to Hickory. Mercer was Pittsburgh’s third
round selection from this year’s draft out of Oklahoma State University.
Infielder Matt Hague was promoted from State College to Hickory. Hague was Pittsburgh’s ninth
round selection from this year’s First-Year draft out of Oklahoma State University. Hague hit .333 (9-for-27)
with three doubles and six runs scored in his first seven professional games.
Infielder Jim Negrych went 2-for-3 for the Carolina League-California League All-Star Game on Tues-day
in Myrtle Beach. Negrych is currently leading the Carolina League with a .362 average and 100 hits.
Infielder Jose Luis De Los Santos was promoted from Hickory to Lynchburg. De Los Santos hit .270
(66-for-2 ) with five doubles and 20 RBI in 58 games for the Crawdads.
Infielder Brian Friday was placed on the disabled list at Lynchburg.
Catcher Juan Carlos Lopez was signed to the Dominican Summer League Pirates.
Righthanded pitcher Cristian Montero was signed to the Dominican Summer League Pirates.
