| Biography: |
This 25th overall selection of the 2007 draft has been clocked at 100 MPH at times. That, combined with his size and left-handedness may make him the Sox' top prospect. His underdeveloped secondary pitches make some scouts question his ability to succeed as a starter at higher levels, however.
Poreda went 4-0 with a 1.17 ERA at Great Falls in '07, then 5-5 with a 3.31 ERA this year for the warthogs before earning a promotion to Double-A less than a year after his 1st-round selection. |
