Played three years at UNC-Wilmington before finishing college career at Elon. Primarily a pitcher in college, going 12-4 at UNC-Wilmington, but with a combined ERA of over 5. ... At Elon, went 5-4 with a 5.16 ERA in 2007. At the plate that season, he hit .340 (17-for-50) with two homers and 11 RBI.
In 17 games for the Gulf Coast League Nationals in 2007, hit .298 (14-for-47) with no homers, eight RBI and nine runs.
