Pirates Prospect Interview: Steven Pearce

First baseman Steven Pearce has been promoted from Double A Altoona to Triple-A Indianapolis. Pearce is having a great season. The 24-year old, started at Class-A Lynchburg and hit .347 with 11 home runs and 24 RBI in 19 games. Promoted to Altoona on May 1, he hit .334 with 14 homers and 72 RBI in 81 games in a Curve uniform. PiratesDugout.com's George Von Benko spoke with Pearce recently.

GVB-- What has been the key to your offensive success this season? SP-- I've got to thank my teammates - I've been in such a great lineup where everybody hits, and hitting is contagious and you just want to go out there and help your team win.
